Our Christchurch branch was launched on 30th April 2016 with a fundraising market day which was a great success. Baby Loss NZ (Canterbury) is very pleased to announce they have had their very first committee meeting and have filled all the roles on our committee!

A message from 2 of the ladies running this group:

We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone from near and far who has supported, encouraged and helped us grow in the last few weeks in the lead up to our first fundraiser - we can very proudly announce that our Fundraiser Market was a success and we raised $1029.30c it was so lovely to meet everyone who came today and hear from those who couldn't. We were so lucky to have our managers, Sarah and Josie from Auckland come and help us and show their support, it was such a privilege to meet you 2 beautiful souls who do so much for the families of New Zealand - We are so very lucky to have you as our role models. Again, thank you endlessly for all your help, words, encouragement, love and of course all the laughs while you were here. Thank you so much also to the Stall Holders, Food Trucks, photographer & makeup artist, Kids Entertainment and all the other helpers behind the scenes who helped us to make this day a success - We truly couldn't have done it without you. We cant wait for Baby Loss NZ Canterbury to go from strength to strength. We are so pleased to offer our services to the families of Canterbury.
We have had such an awesome day and we are now having a few wines to celebrate such a fab event!!

A workshop to paint and decorate the beautiful memory boxes we give to families will be held on Saturday 9th February at our office in Howick. PLEASE consider coming along to this event. NO experience necessary as the wonderful Coordinator of the Memory Box Programme, Mary Joass will be there showing us techniques, giving ideas and help etc. Cost - $10 which all goes to the Decorative Artists of New Zealand who are the wonderful group dedicated to hand painting and decorating these stunning boxes. This money will be used to purchase more boxes. The day includes materials, boxes, drinks, morning and afternoon tea and a light lunch. Open to men and women, old and young (a toy room for the very young), good company and all in a great cause - providing bereaved families with a unique memory box to keep their treasured memories in.

Come along to say hi as we spend the day at the Botany Community Day. This is basically a big street party with live entertainment and community groups raising awareness about what they do. The main street down the Botany Mall from the Cock 'n' Bull pub right to the roundabout is all closed especially for this. Come on guys - party time!! Come and say hi 🙂

Come along to our 5th balloon release for Baby Loss Awareness Week. We will be having a sausage sizzle, music and of course the release. Balloons provided although we ask that you let us know how many you will need to give us an idea of numbers. Gold coin donation appreciated. Our balloon releases are a great way to acknowledge our babies during this special week. Friends/family are all welcome. We will be at the band stand at the domain. Car parking available and once full, parking on the street is permitted. 1.30pm for a 2pm release.

 

Come along to this fun day at the Baby Loss NZ House where children can join in the activities provided to positively and creatively acknowledge their siblings. Lunch and materials provided however a gold coin donation would be appreciated. We have something for the youngest of kids so babies are more than welcome.

Come along with all the family to our children's Christmas party. There may even be a visit from a very special man in red (we have connections)!! 🙂 Please bring a small present, wrapped with your child's name on to go in a certain sack and a plate for shared morning tea. There will be activities provided at no cost and lots of fun!! Please RSVP on here so we have an idea of numbers. Thanks everyone.
